This simple yet comfortable lodge is the ideal base from which to enjoy Ladakh's scenery and wildlife, which includes snow leopard, Asiatic ibex, Himalayan red fox, bharal and Tibetan partridge.

Snow Leopard Lodge consists of modest bedrooms, a dining room, kitchen and two separate western-style toilets and washrooms, which are heated, and have hot water in the mornings and evenings. It not only provides comfortable accommodation, but also has the benefit of channelling money directly into local hands, strengthening the habitat of the area's snow leopards.

Camp staff and a cook are brought in to cater for groups, and guests can benefit from extra heaters, mattresses, duvets, bed linen, hot water bottles and an assortment of hot drinks and snacks to alleviate the climate and effects of the altitude. This opportunity to live with a Ladakhi family and understand their lifestyle makes for a very special experience.

The guesthouse overlooks terraced fields and provides a superb view across the valley where there is a good chance to see Asiatic ibex and other wildlife.
